South Lake Tahoe hit and run suspect arrested after allegedly striking woman on Lime scooter

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A South Lake Tahoe man was arrested Tuesday, August 18 after hitting a woman on a Lime scooter with his car and leaving the scene.

Early Tuesday afternoon the woman, who is also from South Lake Tahoe, was near the intersection of Johnson Boulevard and Fairway Driver on the scooter when she was allegedly struck by a vehicle. The driver left the scene.

Officers from the South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) started searching

for the vehicle responsible for this incident immediately. With help from witnesses they found the suspect leaving his vehicle and walking into his home on Herbert Avenue.

SLTPD officers had to force their way into the suspect's and he was subsequently arrested.

Arrested was 63-year-old Colin Hauge. He is charged with a Felony Hit and Run causing Injury or Death and has two bail enhancements. His bail has been set at $60,000.

The victim is recovering and SLTPD would like to thank the community members who
help our officers with finding the suspect and providing aid to the victim.
