Open House at Lake Tahoe Community College’s University Center

Event Date:
September 12, 2019 - 3:00pm

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The entire community is invited to a free Open House at Lake Tahoe Community College’s Lisa Maloff University Center (LMUC) on Thursday, September 12 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Take a tour of the new University Center, meet with LTCC’s academic partners who are providing affordable advanced degrees, and explore the many eye-catching works of art now housed in the LMUC created by local artist Scott Forrest. Light refreshments will be served and all are welcome.

Forrest’s art has graced the pages of magazines such as Rolling Stone, Newsweek, and Spin, and are part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles. His large-scale paintings on display throughout the LMUC can best be enjoyed with a pair of ChromaDepth 3D glasses on, allowing the colors to pop out at the viewer. Each monumental painting takes on its own unique voice, some rhythmic and textural, featuring an unexpected visceral and multi-dimensional visual experience for the viewer in 3D. These glasses will be provided for free at the Open House. For more on Forrest’s art and inspirations, visit his website at www.scottforrestart.com.

Representatives from LTCC’s partners in higher education will also be on hand at the Open House to answer questions about the programs and degrees being offered in the LMUC. Information about scholarships, classes, financial aid, and more at Brandman University, Sierra Nevada College and Washington State University will be available. To learn more about the college’s partners and degree programs, visit www.ltcc.edu/4year.

In addition to bringing advanced degrees to the South Shore of Lake Tahoe for the first time, the LMUC is also available to rent for businesses and organizations looking for a mountain-modern environment with cutting-edge technology for conferences, workshops, meetings, and more. LTCC is currently seeking local catering businesses that are interested in partnering on these opportunities. Interested caterers are welcome to attend the Open House to see the facilities and find out more about catering opportunities at the LMUC on LTCC’s campus.
