Douglas authorities seek help in Carson Valley burglaries

Two commercial burglaries early Monday morning in Douglas County have authorities asking the public for help in identifying the suspects with photos provided by surveillance cameras.
The first burglary occurred at the Verizon Wireless Outlet Store on Waterloo Lane sometime around 5 a.m. Entry was made by the suspect smashing the glass of the exterior window of the store. Two cellular telephones, phone chargers and miscellaneous currency were stolen from inside. Click on images to enlarge.

The second burglary occurred approximately 15 minutes later at the Washoe One Stop Smoke Shop located on south Highway 395, about 1 mile away from the first burglary. Entry into the building was made by forced entry into the rear door. Cartons of cigarettes and miscellaneous currency were stolen from inside.

The suspect is described as: male, Caucasian, mid-twenties to early-thirties in age, medium height and build, wearing a beige-colored baggie collared shirt, black or dark blue baggie denim pants, and black baseball cap with large white logo on front, and white tennis shoes.

Investigators believe the male suspect was in the company of a female accomplice at the time of committing the thefts. Images of the female were caught on a surveillance camera at a nearby location.

The accomplice is described as: female, caucasian, mid-twenties to early-thirties in age, medium height and build, wearing a halter top, black lycra-style stretch pants, and white tennis shoes. The female has a tattoo on her upper right back/rear shoulder blade. The tattoo appears to be a vine with multiple branches and leaves. The female also has a tattoo on the back of her neck which appears to be two lines of writing (the text of which is indistinguishable on surveillance video).

The suspects are believed to be driving a newer model black-colored Dodge Avenger or similar vehicle. The vehicle has Nevada license plates.

A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
