Weidinger PR wins top honors at annual awards event

STATELINE, Nev. - Weidinger Public Relations recently captured three awards at the Public Relations Society of America, Sierra Nevada Chapter annual awards including “Best of Show,” signifying Northern Nevada’s top PR campaign for the year.

Weidinger PR earned two Silver Spike Awards, the highest honor from the Chapter, on behalf of The Lodge at Edgewood Tahoe; the campaign was also voted “Best of Show: Programs, Overall Campaign” from among all winners. The firm also received a Bronze Spike for its digital influencer program for the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority during the Nov. 1 ceremony at the Silver Legacy in Reno, Nev.

The Silver Spike is the highest honor from the Chapter and identifies outstanding achievement, far-reaching client results, and high standards for quality of work and ethics. The designations celebrate northern Nevada’s best communications practices and professionals of the year.

For the Lodge at Edgewood Tahoe, WPR designed a comprehensive media and public relations program to help establish and position the property as a premier full-service luxury resort nationally and regionally. Media coverage for the Lodge, selected as the No. 1 Resort Hotel in the U.S. by Travel + Leisure readers, reached an audience of more than 581 million with placements in 26 percent of desired outlets as determined by the client, with an earned media value of $84 million.

The campaign was praised by judges for “perfect execution and spectacular results” as well as “outstanding outcomes with national audiences.”

A Bronze Spike was awarded for Weidinger PR’s digital influencer campaign for the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority. An aggressive campaign to highlight the natural appeal of South Lake Tahoe attracted the talents of content creators and digital influencers to cover travel, lifestyle, outdoor recreation, food, family/couple getaways. With LTVA partners in lodging, gaming, recreation and dining, Weidinger PR leveraged visits to produce social media exposure in desirable outlets with an earned media value of $135,195, nearly seven times the return on investment.
