High School Soccer Round-up for the South Shore

This was a full weekend for high school soccer on the south shore. The Whittell Warriors and South Tahoe Vikings boys and girls soccer teams all made a showing at regional soccer championships, resulting in one team headed to state.

The South Tahoe Viking girls brought a 13-1-2 record to their semi-final game in Elko on Friday. The Vikings beat Elko 4-0 and then beat their Saturday opponent, Truckee, by a score of 3-2. The Lady Vikings now face the Faith Lutheran Crusaders at noon on Friday, November 15 in the State Tournament at Dayton High School. The winner of their game meets the winner of the Pahrump Valley/Truckee game in the final on Saturday, November 16 at Dayton.

The boys team from South Tahoe met Sparks in Friday's first round match up. They lost a hard fought battle, to the Railroaders by a score of 3-2. The South Tahoe Viking boys end their season with an impressive record of 12-3-1.

A tough double overtime game on Friday didn't fair well for the Whittell Warrior boys soccer team. Their regional battle with North Tahoe ended in a score of 2-1 with the team from the north in the win column. The Warriors end their year with a 9-3 record.

The Lady Warriors made it to the second round of regionals after an impressive win over White Pine, 3-0 on Friday. Saturday's match up was a close one with Incline Highlanders beating Whittell, 2-1. The Warriors end their season with a 13-1-0 record.
