South Lake Tahoe Library: Book sales canceled

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - To our South Lake Tahoe Library Friends and Community, Thank you for your patience as the Friends of the Library have been working with Library staff and the El Dorado County Public Health Services to continue our book sale events at the Library. Unfortunately, due to weather and grounds concerns and also increasing Covid-19 virus cases in the area, we are canceling our Saturday, November 21 sale and suspending book sale events until the weather warms or we can go back inside. As conditions change, we will let you know and welcome your participation. Book sales provide much needed extra funding to our South Lake Tahoe Library and encourage reading and Library participation which will always be at the top of our Friends of the Library goals.

We have reorganized and added more popular fiction to our large honor sale book cases in the library lobby and hope you will continue to check them out when you visit. We restock frequently so there is always a good selection. Our prices are very reasonable and the honor box for payment is secure. You get a deal and the Library benefits! A small table has been added for a special bargain: coffee table books, varied and beautiful, for only $1 dollar each! Please take advantage of this opportunity while it lasts.

We thank you also for your donations of books and magazines so that we may send them on for others to enjoy. As our space for storage is very limited, we ask that you limit magazine donations to those within the current year or that have specialty content. Books should be in saleable condition and of interest. Fiction can be timeless, but textbooks may not be if they are out of date. We appreciate the time and care you take to bring books to the library and want to make sure they find a good home.

Once more, we thank you for your ongoing support and look forward to seeing you all soon. If you have any questions, please call (530-541-1371) or email (jlbenin@charter.net).
