Viking Corner: This Week at South Tahoe High

It was an eventful week for students and staff at South Tahoe High School. With unfortunate news, fundraisers, and the end to successful “fall sports” seasons. STHS is getting ready for Thanksgiving break.

On Campus

Thursday morning, woodshop teacher, Nathan Crnich was arrested at the STHS campus on sexual misconduct charges. While news was shocking to many, students said they feel safer.

On a brighter note, Polio Awareness was appreciated during lunch on Thursday. Students from the Rotary Interact Club stood by the Student Union, gathering donations and painting their pinky fingers purple for awareness.

A few selected students were asked to present cases about the hiring of a new superintendent of the school board. Tuesday morning, they were pulled out of class to speak to members of the school board and administrators of STHS about what they look for in the new hire.

Athletics

Volleyball and girls’ soccer ended their seasons with banquets this week. To celebrate a long year, and long trips to the state championships, athletes gathered to receive awards and reflect on the season.

Boys and girls basketball begin their seasons for winter.

Enjoy your break, Vikings.
