Carson Valley Storyteller Horserider video series released

For the past year, Terri Arnold of South Lake Tahoe has been creating promotional videos for the Carson Valley Story Teller series. Each of the nine completed videos (three are still in post production), show Arnold as she shows viewers all they can do in the area. She doesn't show you in the normal way either, everything is done while on a horse named Meha. They can all be seen on the Carson Valley Visitor Authority's You Tube page.

Arnold, the married mother of twins and the Vice President at US Bank, beat out 15 others in a nationwide search last year for the role. The Carson Valley Visitors Authority’s “Rugged. Relaxed. Reachable.” horse and rider tourism campaign shows Arnold taking the horse to the slopes, hang gliding, golfing, horseback riding and much more.

Meha, the horse, makes her home at the Sheridan Creek Equestrian Center.

The 44-year-old wowed judges of the 2013 contest with her moxie, sense of humor and ability to ride a horse like a pro while wearing pink stilettos. Since then, she has taken viewers on various Carson Valley adventures.

As winner of the contest Arnold was contracted for one year to traverse some of the area’s best riding trails, lodging stops and hidden gems. The Carson Valley adventure spans from Topaz Lake and the Pine Nut Mountains to Genoa and the Tahoe Rim Trail. Viewers from coast to coast have seen the videos through the Carson Valley Facebook page. (www.facebook.com/carsonvalleynevada)

“Terri’s magnetic energy — country confidence with an urban edge — really shines through the series of videos,” said A.J. Frels, Carson Valley Visitors Authority executive director. “The campaign ties our diverse landscape, adventure and recreation attributes to what our culture here is really about. We are proud of our magnificent surroundings, and especially fond of the humor, good nature and God-given horse sense of our people.”

Over the course of four seasons nine videos, concepts and scripts have been created, shot, and post production completed for release. A photo library has been complied for use on Carson Valley Visitors Authority social media sites and for promotion in the Visitor’s Guide. The Carson Valley Rider and Horse have been added to the area visitor guide through photos and copy.

For her efforts and time on camera, Arnold received an all-expense paid outfitted four-night, five-day adventure in the Carson Valley for herself and a guest.

“Carson Valley is one of those places in the West that is truly natural and wild. It’s too good a place to keep a secret. You want everyone to know about it,” said Arnold. “Talk about thrilling. In a week’s visit you can take a glider ride, play golf, ski at Tahoe and ride horses at sunset. What’s not to love about Carson Valley?”
