Music, food and dancing at South Lake Tahoe Senior Center grand reopening celebration

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The social, nutritional, recreational and educational hub for South Lake Tahoe's senior citizens has been getting a much-needed facelift in their "great room", one which includes new flooring, heat and air, along with new technology and large screen televisions.

A Grand Opening Celebration will be held on Saturday, December 28 and the whole community is invited, both young and old. The Open House will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. A full slate of activities is planned:

2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. - Music with Fabrizio along with ukuleles at 2:00 p.m., square dancing at 3:00 p.m., guitarist at 4:00 p.m., and a ribbon-cutting with Ricky Reich tentatively planned for 5:00 p.m. Activity directors will be on hand to provide information about the South Lake Tahoe Senior Citizens, Inc. two dozen activities. Memberships ($15/year) can also be purchased by those 50 and older.

7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. - Dance the Night Away with Fabrizio

During the day there will be free food along with beer and wine that can be purchased.

The Angel of Tahoe, Lisa Maloff, donated some of the funds needed for this first phase of a remodel. Fundraising is now underway for the next phase which will include a new entryway and to complete the new flooring through the building.

The SLT Senior Center is located a 3050 Lake Tahoe Boulevard.
