Have you protected your home to the best of your ability? Many of us may think that "it can't happen to me," but when a home was burglarized around the corner from me, I changed that mode of thinking and started looking into ways to better protect mine.

Road Trip: Manzanar National Historic Site

Many of us have driven on Highway 395 between South Lake Tahoe and Southern California. I’ve done that route many times myself on the way to and from San Diego and Disneyland. As heading South, the Owens Valley opens up after leaving the town of Bishop, just over 200 miles from Tahoe. You’ll pass through the town of Independence, and six miles later you’ll find yourself at the Manzanar National Historic Site (the town has an ironic name as you’re about to find out).

Opinion: Is Meyers a community willing to work together?

After witnessing the Tahoe Paradise Resort Improvement District (TPRID) meeting last week I starting thinking how the residents of Meyers and Tahoe Paradise could be better served.

What happened at the TPRID meeting was a sad display of a board in action. There was yelling, arguing and, what one person witnessing everything said, “don’t air your dirty laundry in a meeting like this.”

County meeting with vacation home owners to create "Good Neighbor Program"

It's 11 p.m. on a Saturday night in the middle of summer and you've just turned out the lights to go to bed. But, you're finding this an impossible task because of the blaring music coming from the vacation rental next door.

It's midnight on Friday night in January. You're catching the end of a good movie in front of the fire but are finding it hard to hear the TV in your own home. The loud talking and screaming from the young adults in the hottub next door is louder that it should be.
