Student Job Fair at Lake Tahoe Community College

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Are you looking to hire for the summer or do you have longer-term employment opportunities you'd like to promote? Lake Tahoe Community College will be hosting a job fair for students on Thursday, May 2 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the Student Center.

Students will be able to attend resume writing, interview skills, and career exploration workshops, get a resume review, and participate in mock interviews during the fair. Lunch will be provided during the networking luncheon in the Creekside Room from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Rotary holds entrepreneurial keynote program at Tahoe Blue Event Center

STATELINE, Nev. - The two Rotary Clubs on the South Shore are jointly inviting the public to hear from local spirits entrepreneur, Matt Levitt, this Thursday evening at the Tahoe Blue Event Center. The impact of Mr. Levitt’s popular vodka brand and their sponsorship of the community’s new event location carries a story that the public should hear, both clubs shared.

The Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe and the Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club organized this event after a successful dual-club event at the Tahoe Blue Event Center in early March.

TRPA oversight committee of Nevada Legislative to meet at Lake Tahoe

The next regular meeting of the Nevada State Legislative Committee for the Review and Oversight of the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) and the Marlette Lake Water System will be held Friday, May 3 at 1 p.m. in the Trepp Room at Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation, Incline Village, Nevada.

This committee of the Nevada Legislature meets several times every other year during the state’s interim session to discuss the work of TRPA and Nevada state agencies in the Lake Tahoe Basin and to provide oversight on issues important to Nevada citizens.

Tahoe Art League selects local painter Tom Watts for spring featured artist event

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Tahoe Art League, a 501c nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting fine art and art education in the Tahoe Community is holding a Featured Artist Reception where the work of Tom Watts will be introduced. The reception will be held on Friday, May 3 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. The public is invited to the event which will be held at the Tahoe Art League Gallery located at 3062 Lake Tahoe Blvd in South Lake Tahoe.

"The Big Bang" history presentation at South of North Brewing

Join them for the free presentation as they recount the incredible, true, and bizarre story of a calculating and disgruntled gambler and his attempt to extort three million dollars from the historic Harvey’s Casino at Lake Tahoe, in August of 1980.

Sign ups open for businesses and students interested in South Lake Tahoe Job Fair

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Tahoe Learning Haven (TLH) is hosting its second Student Summer Job Fair on Wednesday, May 8 from 6:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe, 1100 Lyons Ave, South Lake Tahoe. It will be a free one-stop shopping event in which you can leave with a summer job!

Over 25 local businesses will be there, all looking for summer employees. TLH will help students ages 15-18 create a simple resume, complete applications, interview and complete your work permit. In 2.5 hours, students can leave with their perfect summer job.

24th Annual Snapshot Day

Be a citizen scientist for the day!
Snapshot Day is an annual water quality monitoring event held each May. Groups of volunteers fan out across the Truckee River Watershed to take samples from creeks, streams, and lakes—including Lake Tahoe—to capture a snapshot of Tahoe’s water quality at a moment in time.
