South Lake Tahoe woman in custody after allegedly taking a shot at man inside home
Submitted by Editor on Sat, 04/21/2012 - 3:12pmA South Lake Tahoe woman was taken into custody on Saturday afternoon after apparently firing a shot at a man inside a home in the 2600 block of Knox Street.
The man, who was not injured, reported to police that the woman shot at him during an argument and then locked herself in room filled with weapons and ammunition, according to police scanner traffic.

Record high temperatures expected at Lake Tahoe this weekend
Submitted by Editor on Sat, 04/21/2012 - 4:38amA strong high pressure over the region will bring above normal temperatures to the Lake Tahoe Basin, eastern Sierra and Western Nevada through the middle of the week, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.
High temperatures today through Monday could approach 20 degrees above normal for late April. Nighttime low temperatures could be 10 to 15 degrees above normal. High temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday should be around 10 degrees aboe normal before near-normal readings return late in the week.

“It is a high honor to have been given this opportunity,” said Johnson, who has served as UNR's interim president since April. “I am very gratified by the community and campus support of my candidacy.”

Tahoe planning agency Governing Board meeting schedule announced
Submitted by Editor on Fri, 04/20/2012 - 2:38pmThe Tahoe Regional Planning Agency has announced the schedule of presentations for the Regional Plan Update rollout taking place at two upcoming Governing Board meetings on April 25 and 26.
The plan update contains five draft documents for the public, partner agencies and decision makers to review at a minimum for the next two months. Public discussions about the Update will continue through the year, with the Board expected to take final action on the plan by the end of 2012. Documents being released Wednesday include the following:
