NV Energy power outage affects Stateline Lake Tahoe area

Electricity was restored at around 8:40 tonight after reportedly going down at around 5:45 p.m. The preliminary cause of the outage was a bad piece of equipment in a substation, said NV Energy spokesman Karl Walquist.

There are many subtleties involved in both skiing and snowboarding, and in many cases, only trained professional ski instructors are able to communicate them effectively. Unfortunately, lessons can be expensive. On the other hand, injuries that come from poor technique are even more expensive.
Breezy conditions today in the basin and West Slope
Submitted by Editor on Mon, 12/05/2011 - 5:44amWind gusts and breezy conditions are expected today around the greater Lake Tahoe area. A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect through 4 p.m. this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.
Winds are expected to be from the northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Wave heights are expected to be 2 to 4 feet. Small boats prone to capsizing should remain off the lake until water conditions improve.
