Submitted by Editor on Fri, 03/23/2012 - 3:44pmStrong winds aloft ahead of the trough will lead to gusty winds on Saturday with gusts up to 45 mph in valleys and 80 to 90 mph across Sierra ridges. Snow showers for Lake Tahoe are expected to follow, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.
There's a 20 percent chance of snow showers on Saturday with mostly cloudy conditions. The high temperature is expected to be near 46. Less than an inch of snow is possible.
