Douglas authorities look for suspects who tried to cash stolen check at bank
Submitted by Editor on Mon, 03/12/2012 - 1:23pmDouglas County authorities seek the public's help in locating several suspects involved in an attempt to cash a stolen check on Saturday at a drive-thru window at Bank of America on Topsy Lane in north Douglas County near Carson City.
The primary suspect, an unidentified male adult, attempted to cash the stolen check at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday while using the drive-thru teller window, said Douglas County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Jim Halsey.

The state gained an estimated 17,152 people from July 2010 to July 2011, an estimated increase of 0.6 percent, about equivalent to the increase of 0.7 percent the prior year. Two years ago, the state lost 27,677 people, a decrease of about 1.0 percent.

Storm systems line up with rain changing to snow for Sierra, Lake Tahoe

The National Weather Service in Reno reports that anywhere between 6 to 10 inches of precipitation is probable along the crest from Lake Tahoe northward through Saturday, bringing several feet of snow to the Sierra. What it will translate at lake level depends on how low the temperatures will drop, according to the weather service.
