Submitted by Editor on Tue, 03/06/2012 - 1:14pmU.S. Forest Service officers cited four local men for riding snowmobiles at night in the Freel Peak/High Meadows closure area on the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit.
While on patrol, officers observed fresh snowmobile tracks passing directly underneath closure signs and subsequently encountered the riders. One rider fled the scene, abandoning his snowmobile, which was towed and impounded.

A few weeks ago, I wrote about the importance of creating a vision plan in order to begin getting what you want out of life. Just ONE thing you’d like to be different. Many people when faced with this task don’t know where to start because they get overwhelmed with thinking about ALL the things they want to change. Suddenly their eyes glaze over, their thoughts race in a thousand different directions, and frustration or helplessness sets in. Making changes just feels too difficult or even impossible to tackle.
Nevada Political Season Gets Under Way Today With Dozens Of Candidates Filing For Office

Over 90 candidates filed for a variety of offices in Clark County.
Another 17 filed with the Secretary of State’s office and others filed in their respective counties around the state.

Prescribed fire resumes Tuesday at Lake Tahoe on Kingsbury Grade

The size of the operation will depend on the condition of the area, according to the Forest Service. Crews may continue operations through the week and possibly through the weekend, weather and conditions permitting.

Authorities ask for help in locating family of twin elderly South Lake Tahoe sisters found dead
Submitted by Editor on Mon, 03/05/2012 - 4:52pmThe El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in locating family members of elderly twins, Patricia and Joan Miller, 73, who were found dead in their South Lake Tahoe home on February 26. The nature of their deaths hasn't been determined, however, foul play has been ruled out, said Sheriff's Lt. Bryan Golmitz. The cause and manner of death is still being investigated by El Dorado County Sheriff’s detectives and the South Lake Tahoe Police Department.
