Reno-Tahoe International Airport to undergo $40 million in renovations

Beginning today the Reno-Tahoe International Airport will be undergoing $40 million in renovations, including a Lake Tahoe-themed ticket lobby. An economic way to learn how to ski or snowboard at Lake Tahoe

While choosing to allow family members and friends to teach you to ski or snowboard may have an economic advantage, most experts would advise against this practice. There are many subtleties involved in both skiing and snowboarding, and in many cases, only trained professional ski instructors are able to communicate them effectively. Unfortunately, lessons can be expensive. On the other hand, injuries that come from poor technique are even more expensive.

Breezy conditions today in the basin and West Slope

Wind gusts and breezy conditions are expected today around the greater Lake Tahoe area. A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect through 4 p.m. this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.

Winds are expected to be from the northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Wave heights are expected to be 2 to 4 feet. Small boats prone to capsizing should remain off the lake until water conditions improve.
