Attorneys General of California and Nevada Announce Mortgage Investigation Alliance

Attorneys General Kamala D. Harris of California and Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada announced Tuesday that their states have entered into a joint investigation alliance designed to assist homeowners who have been harmed by misconduct and fraud in the mortgage industry.

By forging this alliance, California and Nevada will combine investigative resources, including litigation strategies, information, and evidence gathered through their respective ongoing investigations, assisting each state as it pursues independent prosecutions.

New license plate to help fund programs

After a five-year journey, the Nevada Department of Wildlife's (NDOW) first-ever license plate has been released!
Proceeds from the sale of the "Conserve Wildlife" plate will provide sorely needed funding for NDOW's wildlife education and volunteer programs.

Nevada Wildlife Commission OKs Lake Tahoe crayfish harvest

A Nevada man could begin pulling crayfish out of Lake Tahoe's waters by next spring following action by state wildlife officials. The Nevada Wildlife Commission on Dec. 3 unanimously approved regulations authorizing the commercial harvest of crayfish from Tahoe's Nevada waters. More hurdles need to be cleared by other agencies.

South Lake Tahoe Ranked 3rd for Winter Vacation Destination

TripAdvisor announced America’s top winter vacation rental getaways for 2011 and South Lake Tahoe was ranked third as a top destination. The ranking is based on TripAdvisor vacation rental inquiry data for the winter months.

TRPA Taking Holiday Donations for Families in Need

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency is partnering with Christmas Cheer All Year and St. Theresa’s Catholic Church to collect donations for local families in need this holiday season.

“We are concerned that so many local families are struggling right now,” said Joanne Marchetta, Executive Director for TRPA. “We want to help make sure that no local child goes without warm clothes and that families don’t go hungry this holiday season.”
