The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency is partnering with Christmas Cheer All Year and St. Theresa’s Catholic Church to collect donations for local families in need this holiday season.
“We are concerned that so many local families are struggling right now,” said Joanne Marchetta, Executive Director for TRPA. “We want to help make sure that no local child goes without warm clothes and that families don’t go hungry this holiday season.”
TRPA has collection bins in their front lobby at 128 Market Street on Kingsbury Grade. Lobby staff members are accepting donations of new unwrapped toys, non-perishable food, warm coats and clothes for children and adults, and checks made out to St. Theresa’s Church until December 16.
Christmas Cheer (at (530) 542-4934) and Saint Theresa’s at (530) 544-3533) have combined forces to reach out to the community and can be contacted directly for more information.
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency cooperatively leads the effort to preserve, restore, and enhance the unique natural and human environment of the Lake Tahoe Region now and in the future.
