South Tahoe Earth Day

This year's Earth Day has something for everyone, including a new Speaker Corner with talks on Tahoe Tessie, the history of Lake Tahoe, our edible Sierra and more. Our Kid Zone will be full of recycle-themed arts and crafts like
'Stars of Tomorrow' Talent Competition Applications Due April 20
Submitted by Editor on Mon, 04/09/2012 - 12:37amThe 6th annual STARS of Tomorrow Talent Competition has been scheduled for Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the South Tahoe Middle School MPR. Applications are due April 20.
The competition is open to students currently enrolled in the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades in the South Tahoe area, both California and Nevada sides of the state line. This includes South Tahoe High, Whittell High and any student enrolled in a private high school program or an approved continuation or home-schooled program.

Prepare for the El Dorado County Fair; entries being taken

South Lake Tahoe entries will be picked up from library the week of May 8. There are some exceptions, for example, floriculture entries and baked items, need to be brought to the fair on their respective receiving days.
Entry guides for the “Grapest Show on Earth” — the 2012 El Dorado County Fair — are available online. Whether you’ve just begun a project or are looking to pick up a new hobby, browse through the entry guides.
