Great Lake Tahoe Sternwheeler

The Great Lake Tahoe Sternwheeler Race pits South Shore’s two Mississippi paddlewheelers, The Tahoe Queen and M.S. Dixie II, in a four-mile race along the shoreline to determine the coveted Tahoe Cup and lake supremacy, Sept. 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The 19th renewal of the spirited “battle of the paddle,” Korbel California Champagne continues a home-grown tradition for annual bragging rights. The M.S. Dixie II holds an 11-7 edge over The Tahoe Queen.

Summer Jazz in the Park Series

$27.6 Million Contract Will Bring High Tech Kiosks To Grocery Stores For DMV Transactions

CARSON CITY – The state Board of Examiners today approved a 10-year, $27.6 million contract to install kiosks in grocery stores statewide where Nevadans will be able to renew car registrations, extend drivers licenses and perform other tasks that might otherwise require a trip to a Department of Motor Vehicles office.
