The crossover trial is now open. That in conjunction with the predicted natural sow heading our way is indeed good news. Like many I've been waiting to ski Heavenly until the crossover trial opened. Small fires break out near Vikingsholm, Upper Echo Lakes area

A Lake Valley Fire Protection District captain said that crews were sent to the Vikingsholm fire at around 3 this afternoon after a power line went down. The status of the fire was it was about a 10 foot by 10 foot fire and was reportedly knocked down.

But it has some fine runs and great views of Lake Tahoe. And its Last Tracks windup to a day on the slopes is unmatched anywhere around Tahoe. I know, I've gone it several times.
