Lake Tahoe Federal Advisory Committee to meet at the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency

LTFAC will address issues related to federal activities at Lake Tahoe. Items on the agenda include reviewing and confirming the LTFAC Vision and Strategic Planning Session outcomes, and public comment.

February 2, 2012 (All day) The Community Education department at Lake Tahoe Community College presents “Get Fresh and Healthy” workshop series. This is a series of four workshops; however you can register for individual workshops OR for all four together! Each workshop is ONLY $38!!
• Cooking with Spices is on Thursday, February 2nd from 6pm-9pm.
This exciting workshop will help you learn to elevate the flavor of foods by using different herb and spice blends. The facilitator of this workshop is local and master gardener, Diane Weidinger.
• The Winter Soup Workshop is on Friday, February 10th from 6pm-9pm.

Weather Service: Snowpack increases with storms but dry weather may return
Submitted by Editor on Mon, 01/23/2012 - 1:01pmHere's the latest from the National Weather Service in Reno on the storms: This graph shows the change in snowpack percentage from the SNOTEL sites in the four main Sierra basins. Before the series of storms in the past week, all of the basins were below 10 percent of the season-to-date normals. As of early this morning, the snowpack has increased to around 25-30 percent of normal, which includes partial totals from the Sunday night-Monday storm.
