No More Good-byes...

I don't deny; this is personal. I'm just one person, and I have 17 friends who are Cancer survivors; that's the good news. I've also lost seven friends. I know I'm not unique. I know if that's my story, everyone has one similar So what are we going to do about it?

We fight! We tell Cancer "We are not going to LET you win! This is how you start: Join us for the Cancer Relay for Life at Kahle Park on August 11th from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Challenge your friends to walk laps against Cancer. Enjoy a plethora of activities; the survivors opening parade, kids games, Escobar Fitness Training exhibit, a sing-along with Ukelele by the Lakes, Caricatures by Vern Lee, the Bark for Life event, a silent auction, refreshments, entertainment and more! If you're a survivor or caregiver, you're invited to a buffet lunch! At twilight, bond with friends and family as the stirring Luminary Ceremony begins. For $10, you will be given a white bag, which you can colorfully decorate, including the names of those loved ones lost and survived. As the park darkens, the bags are illuminated and placed side by side on the ground. It's breathtaking. It's a lingering moment...in time.
