4k For Cancer rides through South Lake Tahoe

The common question "what did you do this summer" is asked through schools as they reconvene in a few weeks. The group of 26 cyclists in South Lake Tahoe this weekend will be able to top most answers with "I rode across the US on my bike."

Riders Rachel Taylorson and Alexander "Ally" Straub stopped by Tahoe Douglas Rotary on Friday, August 2 to fill in the club on their ride and fundraising efforts. Club members hosted riders in their homes for the weekend before they head off to Lee Vining and Yosemite on Sunday. The riders, named Team San Francisco, plan on being in San Francisco on August 10 which will be the end of the 70 day journey which will have covered over 4,700 miles.

4k for Cancer is a program for the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting young adult cancer victims. There are 4 rides across the country this summer, all landing in different cities. Last year over $500,000 was raised for the Ulman Fund.
