DAR chapter sponsors Wreaths Across America ceremony

Event Date:
December 14, 2019 - 9:00am

Lake Tahoe Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, will conduct the first Wreaths Across America ceremony ever to be held in the South Lake Tahoe area. The ceremony which remembers and honors those who serve and have served in our armed forces - and those who serve as local first responders - will take place promptly at 9:00 AM, December 14, at Happy Homestead Cemetery (1261 Johnson Blvd.). The public is invited to attend.

The motto of the Wreaths Across America Foundation is “Remember-Honor-Teach.” Currently, Wreaths Across America ceremonies are held on the second Saturday in December at over 1,600 national cemeteries, state veterans’ cemeteries, local cemeteries with veteran burials, veterans’ monuments, and US ships at sea. Each participating location receives seven ceremonial wreaths that are dedicated during the ceremony to the five branches of our armed forces, to POW/MIA’s, and to our first responders.
