Event Date:
January 16, 2025 - 12:00pm
Join the Tahoe Chamber at its first Level UP of 2025 on January 16 at 12 p.m. In partnership with the City of South Lake Tahoe, the Chamber welcomes Jessica Carr, director of the Sierra Small Business Development Center (SBDC), and Dan Keenan of Hatchback Creative, a South Lake Tahoe-based SBDC advisor.
What is an SBDC?
Small Business Development Centers provide counseling and training to small businesses including working with SBA to develop and provide informational tools to support business start-ups and existing business expansion.
How can an SBDC help your small business?
SBDC Programs deliver professional, high-quality, individualized business advising and technical assistance to existing small businesses and pre-venture entrepreneurs. SBDCs provide problem-solving assistance to help small businesses access capital, develop and exchange new technologies, and improve business planning, strategy, operations, financial management, personnel administration, marketing, export assistance, sales, and other areas required for small business growth and expansion, management improvement, increased productivity and innovation.
Jessica will explain how the NorCal and Sierra programs work to support small businesses in our region, all with no fees to the client. Dan will provide specific examples of his advising work in website and graphic design. According to the Small Business Administration, a trend for 2025 will be an increase in online marketing; 73 percent of small businesses have a website, and most small business owners use social media platforms to build brand awareness and promote products and services. There have never been more ways to connect with prospective customers than there are right now.
