Cold temps, a few more storms on tap for Lake Tahoe this week

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - It is another very cold night in Western Nevada and around Lake Tahoe. It will be coldest by daybreak with the valleys seeing below-zero temperatures, again. South Lake Tahoe will be single digits, but it won't be the only time this week to see that number.

Expect a brief warmup, strong gusty winds, and a few showers on Tuesday, followed by another cold storm Wednesday through early Thursday. There will be widespread wind and snow impacts at all elevations, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.

The first storm of the week is on Tuesday, and that is trending drier and windier. It will be followed by the second storm which will bring more wind Wednesday but will have more potential for better snow at all elevations. It will linger into Thursday morning. Another storm on the Martin Luther King Birthday weekend is trending wetter, but confidence in timing and snow level details is low.
