Some Lake Tahoe area roads are closed tonight

Kingsbury Grade/SR207 is closed along the entire route due to extreme weather conditions and numerous vehicle spin-outs. It is unknown at this time when it will be safe enough to reopen.

I-80 is closed from Colfax to the Nevada state line due to whiteout conditions.

US-50 is currently open but has been closed at times Tuesday due to conditions and avalanche control. Chains or 4WD with snow tires are required from Meyers to Cedar Grove at this time.

US-50 at the base of Spooner Summit near US-395 is closed.

SR-88 is closed from Fiddler Hill Summit to Kirkwood, including the Carson Spur.

US-395 is closed from 11 miles north of Bishop to the junction of SR-182. It could be closed Wednesday as well.

Conditions are rapidly changing and roads can close at any time. Travel is not advised.
