LTUSD nurses unable to contact students with possible COVID-19 exposure

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) is advising all parents that there is a high probability that all students have been exposed to COVID-19 this week.

Due to the drastic increase in COVID-positive staff and students, school nurses are unable to notify each individual student of exposure at this time. COVID positives have increased at every location exponentially and affect almost every classroom district-wide, according to LTUSD leadership.

"Regardless of known exposure or symptoms, we encourage all students to pick up a test kit from your school site (as directed by the principal of each school) and test your student on Monday, January 17th, prior to their return to school on Tuesday, January 18th," said LTUSD Press Information Officer Shannon Chandler.

LTUSD asks parents to watch their students for any symptoms prior to sending them to school. Students should not come to school with any single symptom of illness, even in the presence of a negative COVID test. Anyone with symptoms of illness should remain at home and contact your school nurse, said Chandler.
