Tahoe Grizzlies 10U wins MLK Hockey Tournament at Tahoe Blue Event Center

The Tahoe Blue Event Center’s inaugural hockey game was celebrated last Friday with a Tahoe win when the Tahoe Grizzlies 10U team defeated the Santa Rosa Flyers 7-4. The Tahoe Grizzlies team proceeded through the locally hosted Martin Luther King Tournament undefeated, beating the Ventura Mariners 5-1 and the Tri-Valley Blue Devils 10-0.

A closely played rematch with the Ventura Mariners for the tournament finals game on Monday resulted in the first championship in the event center being awarded to the Tahoe Grizzlies for their 4-2 victory.

“We’re really proud of our kids’ accomplishment this weekend,” says Ha Dang, team parent. “After not being very competitive last season, our kids have dedicated a lot of time and effort to improving their skills during the off-season and we’re really excited to see their hard work pay off.”

The Tahoe Grizzlies 10U team is currently ranked in fourth place in their NORCAL league standings and hopes to carry the momentum from this tournament win to make the playoffs in March.
