El Dorado County Child Abuse Prevention Council hosts listening session in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The El Dorado County Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC) is working on a countywide Comprehensive Child Abuse Prevention Plan and they are seeking help from the public on what child abuse prevention looks like in South Lake Tahoe.

It will be held on Saturday, January 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the South Lake Tahoe Library. Light snacks will be provided.

This is one session in a series of community listening sessions the CAPC is hosting to seek the feedback of community members on the proposed plan.

What services are needed in our community? How easy are services to access? They need your thoughts!

This plan is for the entire community, for the children of the community, so please join the council and participate. Through a grant, they are providing a $100 Safeway Gift Card for individual expertise in accessing or needing to access services in El Dorado County that support families.

You are the expert in your life and community, and participation in the two-hour session earns you a $100 Safeway Gift Card.

How will you collect my input? They will use an electronic survey tool (devices will be provided if needed), and a discussion in a group setting. There will be no child welfare staff present, only a Child Abuse Prevention Council member and the council coordinator to facilitate this meeting.

Will you collect my personal information? No, your input will be anonymous and no identifiable information will be collected.

You will need to sign that you receive your $100 gift card, but no other information will be required. Space is limited, you will be notified by 1/20/2023 if there is space available.
