Cold nights and sunny days expected in the week ahead for Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Now that the historically active weather period at Lake Tahoe has passed, people can get out and about, and finish shoveling all that snow. Expect cold and tranquil weather conditions.

Sunny days and a lack of storms, along with plentiful snow at resorts, expect possible traffic this weekend around Lake Tahoe. Temperatures will remain below average with light easterly winds in place.

Snow removal teams will continue work on area roads and no street parking is allowed during snow conditions.

The current forecast from the National Weather Service in Reno:

Today - Sunny, with a high near 33. East wind around 5 mph.

Tonight - Mostly clear, with a low around 3. South wind around 5 mph.

Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 42. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning.

Saturday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 17. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 43. West wind 10 to 15 mph becoming north in the afternoon.

Sunday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 9. East wind 10 to 15 mph.

Monday - Sunny, with a high near 38.

Monday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 3.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 40.
