Council approves new Planning and Parks and Recreation Commissions

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Lake Tahoe City Council updated the members of the Planning Commission and Parks and Recreation Commission.

Five residents applied for the two-year open terms for the Planning Commission and a one-year term. Incumbent Gavin Feiger, Julia Lucksinger, and Jackson Realo were appointed. It took a few motions to get one passed as there were so many qualified candidates.

The Parks and Recreation Commission had three openings, each for two years. Four applicants submitted applications. Three three incumbents will be returning - Amelia Richmond, Jerry Bindel, and David Gregorich.

The Arts, Culture, and Tourism Commission has five members, and the Council discussed adding one more voting member, but it will stay with five voting and one non-voting.

The council directed the City Clerk Sue Blankenship to continue soliciting applications to the Arts, Culture and Tourism Commission, Police Advisory Commission, and Building Board of Appeals. Appointments will be made during their February 27 meeting.
