Eric Nageotte Memorial 5K Snowshoe Walk & Race at Camp Richardson benefits METAvivor

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Tahoe Mountain Milers Running Club is holding the Eric Nagoette Memorial 5K Snowshoe Walk & Race at Camp Richardson on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. The beneficiary of the event is METAvivor in support of metastatic breast cancer research in honor of club member Rene Gorevin, Dr. Kelly Shanahan, and other local Tahoe women.

If you have never experienced snowshoeing, this is your chance - if you can walk, you can snowshoe. You don't have to race, just have FUN! Sign up by Feb. 13 to save $10 off the race day registration cost of $35, and be sure to reserve a pair of snowshoes if you need them or bring your own.

Camp Richardson is supplying free snowshoes to those participating, so be sure to reserve a pair.

First-time walkers are encouraged to participate and it will be fun for the whole family.

The event starts at 10:00 a.m. but race day registration at the ice cream parlor is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.

Early pre-registration by February 13 is only $25 and includes event swag, snowshoe rental if you need snowshoes, post-race refreshments, and continued day-use of groomed Camp Richardson trails.

Masks are required indoors when picking up bib at the Camp Richardson ice cream parlor or getting snowshoes at the Mountain Sports Center.

For those who like to compete, unique handmade age-group awards are three deep.

After the event, they will be barbecuing sausages, along with other post-race refreshments, veggie chili, fruit, cookies, cocoa. It's a party in the snow! Come join the FUN!
