New website puts all Lake Tahoe road, weather, traffic information in one spot

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Lake Tahoe area cameras, weather, traffic and road condition information has been available to the public on several different websites and apps, but the South Shore Transportation Management Association (SSTMA) recently launched a website that puts it all together in one location.

This useful tool has live webcam access at Meyers, Echo Summit, Echo Lake and Twin Bridges, ongoing road conditions, current ski resort social media messages, and weather reports all on one page. This embedded and easy access to those features can make navigating around Lake Tahoe easier for both the local community and visitors. Information is found quickly with links to Caltrans Quick Map and NV Roads, and the page also links to Tahoe Roads for chain control and traffic control updates.

The SSTMA site can be found here - https://ss-tma.org/traffic-and-project-updates/.

“The newly revitalized SSTMA board of directors continues to look for ways to help our community get valuable information on weather, road conditions, traffic and transit,” said Steve Teshara, SSTMA board chairman. “Our goal is to be a one-stop resource to help our residents and visitors move safely and easily through the south shore.”

Communications chair, Gavin Feiger emphasized the value of the SSTMA website, saying “storm systems like the one we are experiencing now demonstrates the importance of the SSTMA work and resources provided through the website. On the traffic and project page, we can all find what we need to plan our daily routes by understanding weather and project conditions.”
