Pine tree cut down by vandal(s) at Regan Beach in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) is investigating another act of vandalism at Regan Beach after a tree was found cut down between the lake and a row of homes.

In November of 2019, nine 20-year-old Jeffrey Pine trees were cut down by unknown person(s) at the same beach. Each had wide swaths of chopping marks on their trunks and holes bored into the bases with poison added. Despite efforts to save them they were all cut down in 2021.

The tree recently found was cut down by a person walking near the beach in January. It was cut all the way down and so far, no poison was found on the tree. The cut was made, the tree fell, and was it left at the scene.

If anyone has any information on the crime, please contact STLPD detectives at 530.542.6100.
