SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Kiwanis Club of Tahoe Sierra invites the South Lake Tahoe community to a very special presentation by longtime South Tahoe resident Leona Allen. They will be meeting in the Aspen Room at the Lake Tahoe Community College on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
On January 1, 2024, Leona was honored by marching in the 135th Rose Parade with the U. S. Forest Service’s float celebrating Smokey Bear’s 80th Birthday.
Leona documented her time in Pasadena, preparing for the parade, and has captured her photos in a PowerPoint presentation which she will share with our community on Wednesday.
The meeting will start at 5:30 p.m., so plan to arrive early (any time after 5 p.m.). The Aspen Room is next to the Library at the college.
The Kiwanis Club is looking forward to hearing Leona’s take on her experience at the Rose Parade and they think the community will also enjoy it. For more information, call Kiwanis Secretary Tom Millham at 530-308-5215.
