Tahoe Transportation suspends bus operations due to "emergency facility problems"

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif - The Tahoe Transportation District has stopped running its buses in South Lake Tahoe and Douglas County with no clear explanation as to the reason.

Starting Wednesday afternoon, buses stopped running and stranded several riders who had no advance notice. They did not run on Thursday and will be down again on Friday.

The TTD Facebook page said on Thursday afternoon, "Due to emergency facility problems at the transit yard, transit operations are suspended for Friday, February 11, 2022. Staff is evaluating alternative locations for temporary facility use and hope to resume service on Saturday, February 12, 2022."

TTD said the suspension of services is not due to a lack of staff.
