Below is a news release by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office:
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspects and/or vehicle involved in a robbery that occurred at the J&M Mini Mart in Minden, NV, on Friday night, February 10th, 2012
On Friday night, February 10th, 2012, at approximately 8:45pm, an unidentified suspect entered the J&M Mini Mart, in the 1500 block of US Hwy 395 in Minden, NV. The suspect was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark mask and gloves. The suspect located the clerk who was cleaning up inside the store. The suspect pointed a handgun at the clerk, and demanded the clerk open the cash register and give him all the cash money from inside. The clerk complied, placing the money inside a small nylon bag that the suspect had produced.
The suspect then fled the store, running to a vehicle which was parked in front of the store in the open parking lot. The suspect quickly got into the front passenger side of the vehicle, described as a grey-colored 4-door sedan with dark-tinted windows (unknown license plate). The vehicle, possibly an Audi or Volkswagon Jetta, then sped off across US Hwy 395, westbound onto 5th St, where it turned northbound on Esmerelda Av, out of view.
Based on the manner in which the suspect entered the vehicle, and the vehicle quickly speeding off thereafter, it is believed a second suspect remained inside the vehicle during the robbery to function as a getaway driver.
A reward of up to $750.00 is available for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
The suspect is described as approximately 5ft-11in to 6ft tall, medium build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants, dark-colored mask, and black gloves.
The clerk was not injured in the incident.
An undisclosed amount of currency was stolen.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call Secret Witness at: 775-78-CRIME (775-782-7463); or DCSO Investigations at 775-782-9905.
