COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officers announced 28 residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since yesterday. Of those, 1 is in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, 6 in El Dorado Hills, 0 in Diamond Springs/El Dorado, 2 in North County, 3 in Greater Placerville, 8 in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, 1 in South County, 7 in Lake Tahoe region. Awaiting address confirmation from today's count: 0. Total now awaiting address confirmation: 112.

Of those new cases, 4 is under the age of 18, 12 are age 18-49, 6 are aged 50-64, and 6 aged 65 or older. Awaiting age confirmation from today's county: 0. Total birthdate unknown to date: 10.

There have been another 45 assumed recoveries with 602 assumed active cases.

There have been an additional 678 negative results received.

There are currently 2 COVID-19 patients hospitalized with 0 of them in the ICU at Marshall. As of today there are no patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at Barton. There are no suspected cases in the ICU. Also according to the State website, Barton has 7 available ICU beds, Marshall 5.

There have been two additional deaths, the total for El Dorado County residents dying from COVID-19 is 90:
- 50-64 Female from Cameron Park, Shingle Springs, Rescue
- 65+ Male from El Dorado Hills

The county moved into the purple tier November 17 and was under a Stay-at-Home order from December 10 to January 12. To move from purple down to red, or "substantial," the daily new cases need to be 4-7 per 100,000 and the county needs a 5 percent to 8 percent positive test rate. In that range, schools can open for in-person learning after being in red tier for 14 days.

We are reporting 3 additional deaths due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. The individuals were:
• A male Douglas County resident in his 60’s
• A male Douglas County resident in his 70’s
• A male Douglas County resident in his 80’s

We are also reporting 10 new cases and 21 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 10,979, with 8,474 recoveries and 201 deaths; 2,304 cases remain active.

The Regional Information Center is reporting 114 new COVID-19 cases and 2 new deaths in Washoe County since yesterday.

Their seven-day test rate is 5.6 percent positive, and average daily case rate for last 7 days is 13.4 per 100,000. Seven-day increase is 1.5 percent, 14-day increase is 3.8 percent.
