South Lake Tahoe extended forecast looks cool and wet

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The healthy snowpack in the Sierra could get more added to it as a cold and snowy weather pattern looks to be setting in after the holiday weekend. Until then, it's a slow and gradual warming trend.

According to Tahoe Weather, the hype is already building for the cold and snowy pattern that could last through the end of February, and possibly into early March.

Sunday and Monday will be sunny and near 50 degrees, so enjoy it while you can!

The Weather Channel is calling for about a daily 50 percent chance of snow or higher from Tuesday night through March 2.

The National Weather Service forecast for South Lake Tahoe:

Friday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 38. South wind around 5 mph becoming northeast in the morning.

Friday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 14. Southeast wind around 5 mph.

Saturday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 44. West wind around 5 mph.

Saturday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 18. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

Sunday - Sunny, with a high near 46. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming east in the afternoon.

Sunday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 21.
