UPDATE 12:45PM: US50 is now closed at Echo Summit due to avalanche control, heavy snow and multiple spin-outs.
Travel is highly discouraged. If you don't need to be on the road, CHP says "don't." There is no estimated time of reopening.
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Blizzard warnings continue for the Lake Tahoe region and the Sierra, with more heavy snow forecast for the rest of the day on Tuesday. The warning expires at 4 a.m. Wednesday with snow ending around 7 a.m.
Some ski resorts are closed today, including Sierra-at-Tahoe, Kirkwood, Palisades, Mt. Rose, and Heavenly is trying to open by 11 a.m. but snow and winds are an issue.
