COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County is reporting 6 more residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since yesterday. The County's health officer announced 0 are from Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, 1 in El Dorado Hills, 0 in Diamond Springs/El Dorado, 0 in North County, 5 in Greater Placerville, 2 in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, 1 in South County, 4 in Lake Tahoe region. Awaiting address confirmation from today's count: -7. Total now awaiting address confirmation: 101.

Of those new cases, 1 are under the age of 18, 2 are age 18-49, 1 are aged 50-64, and 2 aged 65 or older. Awaiting age confirmation from today's county: 0. Total birthdate unknown to date: 12.

There have been another 25 assumed recoveries with 395 assumed active cases.

There have been an additional 879 negative results received.

There are currently 4 COVID-19 patients hospitalized with 3 of them in the ICU. As of today, there are 3 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at Barton, all of them in the ICU; 1 hospitalized due to COVID-19 at Marshall with 0 of them in the ICU. There are no suspected COVID-positive patients. Also according to the State website, Barton has 3 available ICU beds, Marshall 1.

There has been no additional deaths, the total for El Dorado County residents dying from COVID-19 is 100.

With respect to the tier assignment measures:

· Health equity quartile positivity rate: 4.6%

The county moved to the Red Tier, effective 3/3/21. To move down to the Orange/Moderate Tier, the above numbers need to fall into the ranges below:
