Winter Storm Watch issued for Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Lake Tahoe Basin and Mono County from 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 9 to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday.
Heavy snow is possible. For the Tahoe Basin, 6 to 12 inches possible at Lake Tahoe level with 12 to 18 inches above 7000 feet. For Alpine and Mono counties...6 to 12 inches possible above 7000 feet with up to 18 inches near the crest, and up to 4 inches possible along and east of US-395.
To start the week off, a Lake Wind Advisory is in effect until 7:00 p.m. Monday.
Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute Tuesday and morning commute Wednesday.
