Some South Lake Tahoe and Douglas County offices closed

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. – Due to travel impacts from regional flooding, Douglas County offices are closing Friday, but County courts will remain open for normal business hours.
Aside from essential public safety, corrections personnel, and courts, all county offices will close early.
There is currently flooding on many roads around Douglas County. Douglas County Sheriff Daniel Coverley has advised that motorists should avoid travel in unnecessary and non-emergency situations.

The City of South Lake Tahoe has also closed some offices due to the condition and safety of two city buildings.
The following are closed on Friday and the City will assess the condition of each building Monday morning to determine if we can safely open back up:

All programs have been canceled through Monday.
The following offices will remain open:
-City Hall, Public Works, South Lake Fire Rescue, South Lake Tahoe Police Department, and dispatch will continue regular operations. Contact 911 for emergencies.
Note: The Finance Front Counter located at City Hall is closed on Fridays. Services are available via email or phone.
