Crews responding to flooding in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - South Lake Tahoe public works department is getting help from both South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue and Tahoe Douglas Fire in helping to mitigate localized flooding.

Streets in the Bijou area were experiencing heavy flooding - Bill Avenue, Shirley Avenue, Vanda Lee Way, and Betty Rae Lane were closed Saturday but have since reopened, though there is still some flooding. Werner Salas Drive is still closed.

There are many other areas experiencing flooding in South Lake Tahoe and Meyers, and crews have been also addressing them when they can.

In Meyers, Arapahoe, Bakersfield, and Ute streets have had flooding issues. Lake Valley Fire has been in those areas as well as evaluating snowload stressed buildings.
