Wylder Hope Valley continues its weekly Eastern Sierra history series this Sunday, March 12 at 1 p.m., weather permitting. The program will be "A Nice Place to Visit…Tourism Below Sea Level.”
How did a location best known for producing laundry soap - with one of the least marketable names imaginable (Death Valley) - come to be one of the “must-see” destinations for travelers and adventurers the world over? Using rare and one-of-a-kind vintage photos, historians David and Gayle Woodruff recount the improbable story in a free 50-minute slide show.
PLEASE NOTE: with the challenging weather we have been having, please call them at 760 920-8061 Sunday morning (between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.) to confirm whether the program is still on or postponed and whether it will be at the Wylder Resort or General Store.
Thank you for your understanding.
