You may be able to clean up your criminal record at an upcoming clinic if you were convicted of misdemeanors or felonies in El Dorado County over one year ago that resulted in jail time, alternative sentencing, or probation.
At the free clinic, you will receive information on whether you are eligible to petition the Court for a dismissal of certain convictions in California. If you were convicted in El Dorado County and successfully completed all the terms of your sentence, you will receive instructions on how to “clean up” your record.
For more information on eligibility, please check the Public Defender's website http://www.edcgov.us/Public-Defender or pick up our Clean Slate Clinic Brochure at all courthouse locations, or at our office at 630 Main Street, Placerville, CA. You can also call the Public Defender's Office at (530) 621-6440 between 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on March 28, April 4 or April 11. An attorney will be staffed during those dates and times to answer questions.
