Snowy start to the week in Lake Tahoe - possible new system arrives late Thursday

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Low pressure will move through the region tonight and tomorrow bringing a period of snow and gusty winds to the Sierra, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno. Additional snow and slick roads are possible for western Nevada Monday evening into Tuesday morning. Spring conditions will return by the middle of the week ahead of another potential storm system late week.
High pressure and warming temperatures will be on tap for Wednesday and Thursday with migratory high pressure moving through the region. Temperatures will warm into the upper 50s/low 60s for western Nevada with upper 40s to around 50 degrees for Sierra valleys ahead of the next system.

Monday - Snow likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. Southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Monday Night - A 20 percent chance of snow before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light north after midnight.
Tuesday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 44. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.
Tuesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 20. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
Wednesday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 48.
Wednesday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 25.
Thursday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 50.
